A short train ride from the Inner West
The Inner West is full of families, renters, first-home buyers, long-term couples who never married, and people who have lived in the same street for decades. Separations here come in every shape.
What they have in common is the need for clear advice. Our office is a short, direct train ride into the city, and if that does not suit, we can talk by video or phone at a time that works for you.
What we help with
What Inner West families ask us about
De facto relationships
Many Inner West couples live together for years without marrying. If you separate, you usually have the same property rights as a married couple, but a strict two-year time limit applies. See de facto separation.
Renting, and the value of super
Even without a house, savings and super need to be divided fairly. Super is often the biggest asset couples have. See property settlement.
Children and schools
Most parents want their children to stay close to their school, friends and grandparents. We help you agree on arrangements that keep life as steady as possible. See children and parenting.
Agreeing without a fight
Many couples want to sort things out calmly. Mediation is often faster and far cheaper than court.
