Family law services
Family Law Services, Sydney
Every part of a separation, and what comes after it, from the first conversation to the final orders, and the estate planning that protects your family for the next generation.
How we help
One team, across every issue a separation raises.
Separation is rarely one legal problem. The timing of a divorce affects the deadline for a property claim. A property settlement affects spousal maintenance and child support. Parenting arrangements affect where each parent needs to live, and so the division of the family home. Estate plans made years ago may no longer reflect anyone’s wishes.
We deal with those issues together, in the right sequence, under a single strategy, so that a decision made in one area never undermines your position in another. Our team has been practising family law in Sydney since 2020, and senior lawyers lead every matter.
Separation & divorce
The first decisions after separation shape everything that follows. We help you make them in the right order.
- Separation & DivorceWhat to do after you separate, and applying for divorce once you have been apart for 12 months, including if you are still living under the same roof.
- De Facto SeparationIf you lived together but did not marry, you still have rights to a share of the property. We explain them, and the two-year time limit.

Frequently asked
About our family law practice
What areas of family law does Oallen Law practise in?
We advise on divorce, property settlement, complex and high net worth matters, parenting arrangements, binding financial agreements, spousal maintenance, child support, mediation and arbitration, Family Court proceedings and family violence. We also advise on wills, estate planning, probate and powers of attorney.
Do you only help people with lots of assets?
No. We help people from all walks of life, whether you own a home and some super, or a family business and investments. What matters is that you get clear advice and a fair result. If we are not the right fit for your matter, we will tell you and suggest where to go.
Do you act for both parties?
No. We act for one party only. Where we have acted for, or received confidential information from, the other party, we cannot act for you.
How do I know which service I need?
You do not need to know. Most separations involve several of these areas at once. Tell us about your situation, and we will explain which issues arise and in what order they should be addressed. Call 02 9145 5266 or send us an enquiry.
